Mother Nature and the earth find their balance constantly. As things change whether naturally or by human act, the earth manages to counteract with an event or circumstance that brings it back into its perfect state of balance.
There are many examples of balance in life. The Yin and Yang, light and dark, masculine and feminine, good and bad, right and wrong.
We are constantly seeking balance in our lives or within ourselves. At times it becomes such a mission that we find ourselves so out of our element that we don’t know where to begin to find the contentment, peace and joy that we call balance.
In universal terms there is no such thing as balance really. It is only our human judgment of things that causes the need to find balance. We judge things right or wrong, good or bad, big or small, and on and on.
In doing so, we often choose not to face the “negative” feelings that may come up. We are afraid of them because they don’t feel good. But is this true? Do they really not feel good?
When we take judgment out of the equation, an emotion is just that – an emotion. There is no good or bad about it. And if we replace judgment with full acceptance, then we recognize there is no difference between feeling love or feeling fear. There are just emotions, experiences, sensations.
If we look at each emotion that arises as just another experience to be observed from that place within that knows the truth, we never have to know suffering.
It is our non-acceptance of experiences, emotions, thoughts and situations that cause us to suffer. When we accept it all as part of our human experience, neither good nor bad, we ease our suffering and feel more content, peaceful and loving.
And in doing so we bring ourselves back to a natural balance.
With love and kindness
